Country powerhouse Sara Evans is back with her eighth studio album entitled 'Words'. The new project is her first album of new material since 2014's Slow Me Down, which debuted at #2 on Billboard's country albums chart. 'Words' debuted this past Friday (July 21) to rave reviews. It's another strong set from Evans who boasts such past hits as "Born To Fly" and "Suds In The Bucket".
This is Evans' first album on her newly established label Born To Fly Records and she has complete confidence in the project, calling it the album of her career.
She enlisted her daughter Olivia to sing on "Marquee Sign", whilst "Letting You Go" was written with her son Avery in mind.
The album opens with the uptempo bluegrass sounding "Long Way Down". This track is classic Sara Evans. Next up is lead single "Marquee Sign" which is a modern and sleek pop song. It's not of her most memorable lead single's. Sara shines the on the ballads where she is most vulnerable. The title track "Words" is a highlight.
Evans revisits her 2011 hit "A Little Bit Stronger" for an acoustic version that is a nice edition to the record. It was her last #1 country radio. This album will appeal to fans of contemporary country and is definitely worth checking out. Stream now on Apple Music & Spotify.
Key Tracks: "Long Way Down", "Diving In Deep", "I Need A River", "Letting You Go".
